The Chop

After a 7 hour bus trip, we arrived in Oaxaca. Our first day here was Palm Sunday, and what better way to kick things off by shaving my head. Actually we'd been planning this for some time - and a wonderful colleague of mine (yes, you, Abby) suggested we try and find an old barbershop in Mexico somewhere to have it done. What an awesome idea! And we found the most fantastic barbershop just around the corner from our hotel here - with a wonderful barber by the name of Señor Pepe, who didn't bat an eyelid when I said I wanted to be done with my mop, and simply asked what number to use on the shaver. The actual barbershop was an eclectic mix of the most wonderful items - a plastic tarantula on top of an old dial-up phone; a small Day of the Dead skeleton sitting in a highchair; cowboy hats hanging off mirrors; an old Harley sitting in the corner... Basically it was a hoot having my hair shaved off at this place.

Abdul learning how to use the shaver... What could possibly go wrong?

And here we go!

Half off.

Let's let the expert take over

Almost done...

This is so much fun!

And, the finished product :)

This post is for you, Abby!!
